Marlins Program Philosophy
CCA Marlins strive to develop the skills that enable young people to become champions in life through a quality-centered, graduated, fiscally sound competitive swimming program organized by professional coaches, supported by our members and sanctioned by USA Swimming.
Our belief is that developing a strong character through hard work, dedication and goal setting by means of competitive swimming will lead to positive self-image and high self-esteem. We strive to encourage every CCA swimmer to feel and behave like a winner. Our program’s goal is to teach the life lessons young people need to succeed in academics, athletics and, ultimately, in life. We will challenge each swimmer to exceed their expectation of what is possible, through body or mind.
Our Training Standards
Ø There is no substitute for hard work
Ø Teach first, train second- sound technique and aerobic conditioning is the foundation of fast swimming.
Ø No one individual is better than Team
Ø Good communication and cooperation between coach and swimmer, swimmer and parent, and coach and parent is vital.
Ø Expect more from the swimmers than they do themselves.
